Lilli Kay can make a supporting character feel like someone whose story you want to follow. Viewers have met her in the tense family drama Your Honor, the political world of Yellowstone, and the golf comedy Stick. Those roles show an actor moving comfortably between very different settings.
For readers arriving through the search “Lilli Kay trans,” the most useful starting point is Kay’s own account. In a 2025 interview with Queerty, Kay discussed being gender-fluid and how playing Zero in Stick connected with her identity. That description deserves more weight than speculation about her appearance.
Here is a closer look at her background, acting career, public comments and the information available as of 28 October 2026.

What Has Lilli Kay Said About Her Identity?
Kay’s Queerty interview offers a direct answer about her public self-description: gender-fluid. She described the importance of portraying a character whose gender identity aligned with her own and spoke about becoming more comfortable expressing herself.
That does not justify assigning every possible label to her. Whether someone also uses “trans” is for that person to say. This article follows Kay’s documented words instead of declaring an unsupported yes or no to a broader label.
An acting role, a suit or a photograph cannot settle someone’s identity. Keeping that distinction clear lets readers understand the person without turning ordinary self-expression into a rumour.
Early Life and Education
Kay grew up close to the entertainment industry. Her father, Stephen Kay, works as a director, and her stepmother is actor Piper Perabo. In a Den of Geek interview, she acknowledged the advantage of watching professional sets operate while growing up.
Her family did not simply push her toward acting. She recalled their concern about the profession and their eventual support when they understood how seriously she wanted to pursue it. That background makes her career story more nuanced than a simple overnight-success narrative.
On education, the clearest detail from that interview is her account of four years of conservatory training before starting professional work. She stressed learning practical tools and understanding the working environment, rather than relying only on familiarity with the industry.
Speaking to PhotoBook Magazine, Kay also described training as a place where she could make mistakes safely. Her advice to aspiring performers focused on practice, self-knowledge and treating themselves with patience.
Career Journey and Breakthrough Roles
From early screen work to Your Honor
Kay’s early screen credits include Paterno, Madam Secretary and Chambers. She later became familiar to a wider television audience as Fia Baxter in Your Honor, appearing alongside Bryan Cranston. Decider’s career overview traces that progression.
In her PhotoBook interview, Kay described Fia as a young person with strength and compassion despite difficult circumstances. She also discussed researching New Orleans to understand the character’s world. That preparation gives a useful glimpse of the work behind a performance.
Clara Brewer in Yellowstone
As Clara Brewer, Kay played an assistant working alongside John Dutton. The character’s position brought her into the show’s mixture of loyalty, family power and political pressure.
In an interview with The Mary Sue, Kay talked about Clara becoming more comfortable taking risks as her connection to the Duttons deepened. She also welcomed the chance to show queer people existing naturally within the series.
Clara’s appeal comes partly from that position between observer and participant. An assistant must notice what powerful people overlook, yet also decide how far personal loyalty should go. That tension gives the role more substance than its job title suggests.
Zero in Stick and the 2026 update
Stick gave Kay another setting: a sports comedy built around golf and an unlikely group travelling together. She plays Zero, alongside an ensemble led by Owen Wilson.
Apple’s 8 October 2026 announcement confirms Kay among the returning cast for season two. The season premieres on 4 November 2026, with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through 30 December.
At this article’s publication date, that premiere is still ahead. It is a confirmed upcoming credit, rather than a season whose performances or audience response can already be reviewed.
Lilli Kay Net Worth in 2026
No independently verified net-worth figure was established in the sources reviewed for this profile. Online estimates should not be treated as audited accounts, particularly when they provide no explanation of assets, debts or contract income.
Acting is her documented profession. Her television and film credits establish a body of work, but they do not reveal her salary per episode or the value of any residual payments.
The reviewed sources also do not establish earnings from businesses or endorsement deals. A fashion appearance or magazine shoot alone does not prove a paid commercial partnership.
For readers comparing celebrity finances, this matters: career visibility and personal wealth measure different things. A busy screen career can support future opportunities without giving outsiders enough information to calculate someone’s bank balance.
Personal Life and Interests
Kay’s interviews reveal interests beyond credits and premieres. In PhotoBook, she spoke warmly about horses and expressed interest in a future project involving music or music history. Those details offer a more personal picture than an estimated salary ever could.
Her family also overlaps with her professional life through Yellowstone. Still, a shared production does not make every part of a family relationship public information. This profile stays with what Kay has chosen to discuss in interviews.
